Our Firm announces the appointment of two new Partners
SOTERIS PITTAS & CO LLC is pleased to announce that as of the 23rd of December 2019, Mrs. Maria Pitta and Mrs. Evi Lamprou have been promoted as partners in our Firm.
Mrs. Maria Pitta has been with our firm for all her professional career since January 2013, when she began her training. She has, since then, been heavily involved in a wide range of corporate matters including mergers, acquisitions, disposals and group corporate structures of Cyprus companies and Offshore companies, shareholder disputes, corporate liquidations and financial matters. She is in charge of the supervision of the Corporate Department of the Firm and is experienced in corporate transactions of all types, from constitutional issues to shareholder agreements and in matters relating to Anti-Money Laundering Laws and Regulations. She has also dealt with various cases related to the international protection of trademarks through the European Union Intellectual Property Office system. Maria is also a Board Member (Secretary) of the Charitable Organization (LETSHELP) since 2015, with a remarkable involvement in the charity work of the Organization. She has obtained her LLB Degree, from University of Northampton (2011) and an LLM in International Commercial Law, from the University of Hertfordshire (2013). She is also a holder of the Advance Certification of the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission.
Mrs. Evi Lamprou has joined our firm since September 2015 and mainly specializes in Corporate and Commercial Litigation. She has court experience in representing companies and individuals in cases involving, inter alia, shareholders’ disputes, conspiracy matters, fraud, breach of fiduciaries duties, as well as cases regarding the issuance of injunctive relief. Furthermore, she advises and handles cases on matters relating to the recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments and arbitral awards in the Republic of Cyprus, as well as the appointment of Interim Receivers and Winding Up Petitions. Evi also deals with matters relating to the General Data Protection Regulation and holds the position of the Data Protection Officer (DPO) of our Office as she was highly involved in the implementation of the information security related legislation. She has obtained her LLB Degree, from National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (2011), a Diploma of Russian Language, from the Moscow State University of Russia and a Diploma of Russian Law Terminology, from the Friendship University of Russia.
